A parasitic worm that lives in the small intestine of its host. Unlike with the Giant Roundworm (Ascaris Lumbricoides) obstruction of movements in the body is rare with hookworms. It is much more likely that one with hookworms will have anemia. Hookworms are the main cause of child-birth deaths.
